Verhackert auf Brot
Styrian smoked pork and bacon spread — finely chopped and seasoned with marjoram and garlic on dark rye.

Ingredients
- 200g smoked streaky bacon
- 100g smoked pork fat or lard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- dark rye bread to serve
Method
- Finely chop or mince the bacon and pork fat together.
- Mix with garlic and marjoram. Season well. The spread should be coarse, not smooth.
- Spread thickly on dark rye bread. Serve with pickled cucumbers and a cold beer.
