Fried quark dumplings — Topfen, semolina, and egg, deep-fried until golden and dusted with icing sugar.

Ingredients

  • 250g Topfen (quark), well-drained
  • 100g fine semolina
  • 2 eggs
  • 50g icing sugar
  • pinch vanilla and salt
  • oil for frying

Method

  1. Mix Topfen, semolina, eggs, icing sugar, vanilla, and salt. Rest 20 minutes.
  2. Form into small balls with wet hands.
  3. Deep-fry at 170C for 3-4 minutes until golden all over.
  4. Drain and dust generously with icing sugar. Serve warm.
